Day 2 of racing had some amazing swims starting with the boys 200 Medley relay with Gauge Tobiasson, Canon Shumway, Spencer Faragher, and Tanner Harmon. These boys raced their way to a win, almost beating the school record-barely missing it by .31 seconds (They still have a chance to break the school record at the State Meet in two weeks). These same four amazing swimmers nearly beat Timpview (the region champion) in the most exciting 4X400 freestyle relay. The Provo Rec was rocking with the noise from the spectators and swimmers as they cheered these boys’ race. Tanner Harmon broke the school record in the 200 IM coming in at 2:02.69, being pushed by his teammate Canon Shumway who placed a close 2nd with a 2:02.77. Such a tight race! Gauge Tobiasson came in 1st and broke a school record as well in the 100 backstroke, swimming a 54.04. Some other awesome swims were Gabby Rhyndress taking 3rd in the 200 IM and 4th in the 100 butterfly. Dane Christensen also raced the 200 IM and took 5th. Gauge Tobiasson and Spencer Faragher raced the 100 butterfly placing 5th and 6th. Canon Shumway and Dane Christensen raced the 500 free coming in at 4th and 5th. Tanner Harmon also took 2nd place in the 100 breaststroke.
