Girls Varsity Wrestling · Team Preview: Mountain View Wrestling

The Mountain View High School Wrestling Program found success underneath Ross Taylor over the past 4 years. He has moved to Salina and is now leading North Sevier.

The new head coach will be lead by Hank Weiss, a former collegiate wrestler for Rick’s and BYU, and former assistant wrestling coach for Orem High and Riverton. The administration is very excited about the energy, expertise, and strong work ethic that Hank has already brought to the team.

The Bruins will be led by a dedicated senior class but supported by excellent underclassmen.  The Bruins had a handful of wrestlers on match away from the podium last season.  Watch for those guys to step up big this year, get on the podium and help the Bruins in February.

Oakley Shumway is a tough freshman that will likely start at 106 for the Bruins.  He has had some solid placings in the age group ranks and has high expectations as an incoming Freshman on a team that looks to be a factor in the 5A conversation.  He will have some tough opponents in the room, and solid coaching to help him reach his potential.
