Halle Hirschi, a graduating Mountain View High School Senior who was a captain on the girl’s soccer team, was awarded a scholarship from the Utah Sports Hall of Fame and the Ream Scholarship Foundation on Monday afternoon. Halle is one of just three MVHS students to win this prestigious scholarship over the past 40 years.  Joel Gardner, who is on board for the Utah Sports Hall of Fame, came to Mountain View to award the scholarship. Mr. Gardner was a basketball coach and assistant principal at MVHS. (You can read more about Mr. Gardner here.)

At an intimate gathering Monday afternoon, Halle’s accomplishments were recognized by various MVHS staff members and coaches, as well as members of Halle’s family who all spoke to her strong character, kind heart, smiling face, and ability to lead by example. Halle was able to say a few words and express her gratitude for the award, the help she was given to receive it, and talk about how lucky she feels to have attended Mountain View. Halle plans to use the award and attend Brigham Young University in the fall.

Halle’s name will be displayed at the Utah Sports Hall of Fame located near City Creek Mall in Salt Lake City. The museum is currently closed but will hopefully be back open within the next few months, at which point friends, family, teammates, and classmates of Halle can go check it out and see her name representing MVHS along with some other impressive Bruin alumni. The Counseling Staff, Athletics Staff, and Administration are proud of Halle and the outstanding way she has represented Mountain View as a student-athlete, and are grateful for her recognition and this generous award from the Utah Sports Hall of Fame. Please read more about the award, and where you’ll be able to see Halle’s name displayed, below.
