Multiple Teams · MVHS Football standout Duce Anderson commits to Southern Utah University

Anderson with his family on signing day, Feb. 5th, 2020.

Duce Anderson, a senior at MVHS,  signed a letter of intent to play football at Southern Utah University Wednesday afternoon. He  will receive a full scholarship including tuition and room & board. Duce played quarterback and occasionally saw time at linebacker and punter throughout his four years playing for Mountain View. He has been a varsity starter since his 9th grade year. He had some impressive stats his senior year, including completing 231 of 373 passes for 3,043 yards and 31 touchdowns. He had nine rushing touchdowns on 97 carries for 733 total yards.

His offensive coordinator Deven McCann said, “Duce is one of the best examples of being coachable that I’ve ever been around. He has obvious talent, but in my opinion what made him great was his willingness to combine his skillset with being coachable. We challenged him to be the best player on the field every game and he was! He was always so humble and respectful to our offensive staff and is an amazing example of how good players can become great players by working hard and being coachable.” Many here at Mountain View send their well wishes to Duce and his family and are excited to see what he can do at SUU this fall.
