Seventh-seeded Mountain View High School Football’s playoff campaign continues Friday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. The Mountain View Bruins will travel north to Smithfield, Utah to play the no. 2 seed Sky View Bobcats.
Mountain View advanced to the quarterfinals after a dominating performance over 10-seed region foe Tooele. The final score was 35-14. Sky View advanced by shutting out 15-seed Cedar Valley (one of Mountain View’s region opponents), 62-0. Both Mountain View and Sky View had first round byes.
The Bobcats are 10-1 overall, and an undefeated 5-0 in region play. Sky View is in Region 11 and boasts wins over the likes of Mountain Crest and Green Canyon. The Bruins are 9-2 overall, 4-2 in region play, with those two losses coming to Park City and Stansbury.
For those making the trek up to Smithfield, please keep in mind that all attendees will be charged a $10 entrance fee, since this is a playoff game. The only exceptions are seniors 65 and older, and students, who will be charged $5, instead of $10. Children under 5-years-old are free. Both cash and card will be accepted at the gate. Visitors should enter through the Southeast gate and sit in the East bleachers. Mountain View will not be providing a fan bus for students. The winner of Mountain View/Sky View will face the winner of Stansbury/Dixie on Nov. 14-16 at a neutral site, to be announced.
